Aphrodite is the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty. She's played by Faith Hill. Her journal is dite.insanejournal.com

As far as Aphrodite is concerned, she is The Goddess. She has many aspects - Pandemos (Common Love), Areia (Warlike), Ourania (Celestial, or Agape Love) Anadyomene (She who rose from the foam) being the most common. While she'll be the first to tell you she loves everyone - and she genuinely does - she does not always like everyone.  Most "lesser beings" she just deems uninteresting... a few have gained her specific dislike. Usually, those that earn her dislike are those who either don't wish to recognize the complete awesomeness that is The Goddess of Love and Beauty,

though real smiting is generally saved for those who harm a child or anyone with whom Ares is too interested. Those people have a bad habit of being turned into various flora.

Aphrodite is very much all about Aphrodite, at least on the surface. self-aware, self-confident, definitely self-centered, she sees nothing wrong with looking out for her happiness first, reasoning that if she's happy, others will be happy as well. It's therefore their job to make sure she remains that way. There are those who gain occasional exceptions to this rule - her children, of course, Ares, and sometimes Hermes, for whom she holds a special affection.  Beyond the surface, however, she runs a bit deeper - not that that's always a good thing. Underneath the "look at me!" layer, she's smart, calculating, and has no compunction against working for what she wants. She learned long ago her choices were to be meek and obedient, or strong and independent, choosing the latter. A fiery temper, she can be a particularly manipulative bitch if it suits her purposes... purposes which can range from general amusement to the fall of an enemy to the finding of true love by star-crossed lovers.

Since arriving in this new world, she’s been at a bit of a loss, finding her lack of obvious station a bit... strange. It's the first time she's shared a home with anyone in a very long time, and she's recently realized she's not married here. The love of her life, however is here, and with Ares at her side, she's confident she can accomplish anything. With no children and a very small contingent of other deities she could consider to be in her court, she's agreed to have more children with Ares, something she talked him out of millennia ago back home. While actual pregnancy isn't required for her, she goes through the motions to make him happy... and the baby will be born whenever she gets bored of the whole process. This could take years, it could last a few days. So far, she won't tell Ares if it will be a girl or a boy... just that it will have wings.

She's also finding the idea of actually being able to make friends an intriguing one - she's generally used to women hating her because men love her, and men really only wanting to love her and not be friends.  So the idea of starting out without millennia of history is a new one - not that it's changed her attitude much.

In appearance she... well, looks very much like Faith Hill, though with a bit of an otherworldly pull to her.  Blond, beautiful, curvaceous - she is Woman. She is Beauty. She is Love.... and it's had to be near her and not feel it. Eyes in a room generally turn to her, and men particularly are known to want to do her bidding, though women aren't always immune. While this can get annoying in public, she's used to it, accepting it as her due. Only rarely does she go out of her way to use it to her advantage.

Dite is open to play with anyone - she usually not at bad as she seems. :D
