Charles Foster Offdensen is the CFO and manager of Dethklok. His responsibility is to keep Toki Wartooth, Skwisgaar Skwigelf, Nathan Explosion, Pickles and William Murderface III on task and making albums.
He is a mysterious man. Nobody really knows what he does on his off time (Read and drink), or if he's even human. The band thought he was a robot for a while, they also think he's a butler. He's more like a babysitter for several giant manbabies.
He wears glasses and suits, has a well-kempt hairstyle, and knows quite a few styles of self-defense. He's also got ridiculous lots of leadership qualities.
He likes Huey Lewis and the News, and his '59 vintage Les Paul. It's his baby.
SPOILER
At the end of season 2, Charles gets a crossbow through his head and then he gets the crap kicked out of him by 216's brother (the guy in the metal mask). 216's brother pulls out a knife with the intent to torture him before he dies. Nathan comes to the rescue, hitting him in the head with a flaming wooden board. Offdensen's unconscious, but probably alive.
/SPOILER
Upon arriving in-game, Charles is more surprised to find out that he's not dead than the whole paralell-universe thing. He's adjusted fairly well to the replacement of Murderface with Miniver, and the replacement of Skwisgaar with the way-younger version of Skwisgaar. He replaced the CEO of Starbucks, and he's hired on Teja Wartooth as his assistant. He can almost always be found in his office.
His PB is Alexis Denisof, and his player is Solange.
Update: "Timey Wimey Plot"
Charles' young self has replaced his current self temporarily for the duration of said plot. This forced me to come up with a background for him, which will probably be destroyed by canon in upcoming seasons of Metalocalypse. But as a DVD extra for season two has in fact convinced me that Charles is human, I was tempted to write this anyways. It'll be dropped like it never happened as soon as the creators of the show prove me wrong. Ahem:
Charles Foster Offdensen was born into a rather privileged New York family. His father was an important businessman, and his mother was a rather vapid but kind trophy wife who bred poodles for dog shows. He was an exceptionally smart child, skipping several levels of school. However, he often used his brains for the wrong goals. His first through fifth arrests occurred when he was 13: drunk and disorderly, breaking and entering, vandalism, petty theft, stealing stereos out of cars, possession of marijuana, etc were on his decent chunk of a rap sheet. He didn't need any of the money, he just enjoyed tackling a dangerous problem and learning from his mistakes. Also, he liked the punk rock lifestyle and getting piss drunk. His father and the family lawyer managed to get him out of jail time and again, but eventually simple legal maneuvering stopped working and his father had to start calling in favors from the "people he worked for."
Two years and a phone conversation he shouldn't have overheard later, Charles's father was forced to tell him what was really going on: Daddy worked for organized crime (as a hitman no less), and he'd been in a debt of favors for all those get out of jail free cards.
Well, Charles at this point felt like shit. Not quite enough to entirely give up his gutter punk lifestyle, but enough so that he struck a deal with his dad. He'd stop stealing (but not getting in fights). He'd graduate highschool early, then go to college and get a degree in business. Maybe even go to grad school. But he most of all wanted to make up for all the awful things his father had to do to clear his debts. He wanted to be trained as a hitman like his dad, and so that any further debts his father incurred, he could pay off. Quite obviously, his father didn't take him seriously. But he agreed to start training him, as a little self-defense couldn't hurt.
Charles was enrolled in college, and as many self-defense and weaponry classes as he could fit in his schedule, supplemented by private training conducted by his father or people his father trusted. His schedule still included sneaking into bars, going to shows, and beating the snot out of anyone who looked at him funny.
And this is how his father's employers came to notice him and recognize the potential. When Charlie was around 20 years old and already in grad school, his father got a knock on the door. His bosses wanted the kid working for them. Basically, his dad refused (even though it had been a part of the deal he'd made with his son, he truly had wanted his child to have a better life than this). This was deemed not acceptable, and led to the murder of Charles's parents.
After this was a vendetta the likes of which can only be described with a top-notch director, seasoned actors and a several billion dollar filming budget. Charles got his revenge on his parents' killers, completed grad school, and all his training with the masters his dad had entrusted him to. His degree included a focus in music management. Though his experiences had sobered him up extremely, he wanted to be involved in the music scene instead of the regular corporate lifestyle.
Many years and a few bands later, there was Dethklok.
Side note: TimeWarp! Charles (he hates that name and prefers Charlie, Chuck, or Chuckles) is 18. In his eyes, his parents are still alive, he's about to graduate college, and he's doing good in his "extracurricular" studies. He is a happy-go-lucky guy.
