five important personal events that have shaped who your character is:
- Her Aunt Lola was a showgirl in Vegas and she saw her in her outfit and wanted to be a dancer.
- She broke her thigh [femur] in the eighth grade and had to work super hard to get back in shape...also it was an eyeopening experience because she didn't know how much dancing really meant to her until she couldn't do it
- Her dad left before she could walk. Her mom married her step-dad when she was three, and he's her dad, you know, but it didn't stop her from thinking about her real father. When she was little, her mom told her her dad was traveling. It wasn't until she was a teenager that she figured out that he wasn't some exotic explorer, but her mom didn't know where he had gone. Still, she's always had kind of an obsession with traveling.
- Thus the backpacking through Europe for a summer where she met Enrique and had a whirlwind romance. She got married in a drunken fit of stupidity and then had to have it annulled.
- She's really allergic to poison ivy and poison oak. She discovered this after losing her virginity at dance camp at 15. You can imagine that the whole ordeal was pretty traumatic. It put her off sex and nature both, that is until Enrique came along. Not to mention the fact that she found out later that the guy she lost her virginity to ended up being gay.
three fears:
- She's afraid she'll wreck her car, and not because she's worried about her car. She thinks it's likely that she'll get herself killed while driving. She doesn't mind being in cars so long as she's not driving, but she hates driving to the extent that other people don't like to fly in planes because they're going to crash. That's one reason that a job on a cruise ship suits her just fine.
- She's afraid of her mom finding out about the stupid shit she's done like dance camp and Enrique and God only knows what else because she has such a terrible habit of living in the moment. She and her mom are close, though and there's a good chance that her mother wouldn't be too upset. Claudia's not sure of that, though, she's so worried she'll let her mom down that their relationship has started to become strained. Claudia has kept so much from her in the past that it's hard to let her in on what's going on in her life now.
- She's scared she's never going to fall in love for real. She's afraid that she shouldn't have let Enrique go because he might really be her soul mate even though she knows it would have never worked out. She doesn't regret ending it, but she's really worried that she might always be a total failure at love.

one secret: She stripped to make money while she was in school. She didn't do it for an excessively long time because it made her feel bad about herself, but she did it for longer than she'd like to admit because the money was too big of an incentive. She told her mom she was nannying for a rich family.
