Before the Game

A little more than a year after Jack and Toshiko were married, a second rather unexpected Torchwood relationship occured. Gwen's relationship with Rhys hadn't lasted, not for lack of trying. They had been working on possibly getting back together when he was killed by a weevil. A few months later, Gwen found solace with Ianto and they were a surprisingly good fit. Owen gave them a hard time about it for a while, both because of his own prior involvement with Gwen and his long-standing rivalry with Ianto, but it was eventually accepted by the entire team.

A year and a half after they became involved, the two became engaged. They planned on waiting a while to get married, but that changed when Gwen found out she was pregnant, and they ended up moving the marriage up. They were later surprised to learn it was twins, and soon, Cooper Ceridwen Llewela Jones and Gwilym Rhys Caradoc Jones were born. Cooper was the elder twin and immediately a complete and utter daddy's girl. She and her brother, affectionately dubbed Wil (or Twpsyn when she was in a mood) were incredibly close but as different as night and day. Cooper shared her father's qualities of neatness, organisation and intelligence, and a love of coffee, and her mother's stubbornness and sometimes blinding compassion. Wil, on the other hand, was far more laid back and, while intelligent, not exactly the sort to apply himself, while at the same time he was far more even-tempered and level-headed than his sister.

Cooper was always closer to her father than her mother, and always planned to join Torchwood when she was old enough (another difference between Coop and her brother). She was devastated when her father was killed in the field when she was eleven. Around the same time, Toshiko was killed, and the incidences brought the two girls closer together. Cooper has always considered Kyoko her best friend aside from Will, and this was what cemented it. Afterwards, Cooper had a hard time getting along with her mother, who didn't want her to work for Torchwood after what happened, and who left active duty to take care of her two children.

Eventually, Cooper did go to work for Torchwood, while attending university in Cardiff and studying linguistics and anthropology. Her mother hadn't approved of her decision, but her father had always wanted her to make her own decision in regards to Torchwood and Gwen respected that. She was 19 when she joined Torchwood and has been working there for five years now. She currently has finished her graduate work and is going for her doctorate. She's twenty-four years old, but an active member of the team and is doing a good job of filling her father's shoes as archivist.

Under the Rainbow, Part One

When she was first brought to this world, she was incredibly confused, and more than a little freaked out by the fact that her parents were around, but she settled in to the new world and became good friends with Triesta Harkness, Tyler Harkness, Fred Harkness, and several other Doctor Who children. Her attitude toward sexuality was definitely a page out of her Uncle Jack's book, and she was very open and not at all opposed to getting involved with multiple people. She went to work for Torchwood when it opened in UTR-land, working with her parents, the other Torchwood members, and Kyoko. She was thrilled when Wil finally showed up, even though he didn't work for Torchwood, and the two had interesting adventures.

Leaving Rainbowland

Cooper was eventually pulled out of UTR-land and brought to another alternate universe, where God brought certain people. She never really fit in there, though she was happy that Wil was pulled there too and that Kyoko and Triesta were there.

Under the Rainbow, Part One

Still, Cooper kept hoping that eventually she would be brought back to UTR-land and eventually, the vortex brought her back. And now, here she is! She's resumed her old life and is working on two doctorates, in Anthropology and Linguistics. She missed Wil, but she's really glad to have Kyoko, Tyler, Fred and Triesta around.
