Special Abilities
Being the son of a devil (and jackal as well) has granted him several otherworldly talents. If someone discovered his true purpose or identity, there were supernatural forces put to work that protected him by killing the enemy in gruesome ways. Animals naturally are put off by him, unless he willingly exerts his will to control them, preferrably dogs. He sort of takes Murphy's Law to a dangerous level; anything that can go wrong, break, malfunction, or result in woeful calamity.. well, it can happen. It can be similar to telekinesis.
He also has a sort of control over those loyal to him. Once they pledge themselves to him, he has control and can probably see through their eyes, according to rumor (similar to a vampire/thrall relationship). However, were he to suddenly be in a new world, the connection may be severed and he'd likely have to start all over with new individuals among the populace, which in itself is a very time-consuming task.
As a side note, his jackal genes allow him an acute sense of hearing and smell, as well as an ability for his eyes to adjust to the dark as easily as that particular canine family is known to do. Perhaps this may also explain how he is able to control dog species, it could very well be that they recognize a sort of kindred spirit in him. This could also indicate why he may have a sort of feral or animalistic inclination on rare occasions.
Personality/History
Born from the Devil and a jackal, Damien is supposed to grow up to be the Antichrist and fulfill his prophecy (ruling, wars, control, corruption, Armageddon, all that fun stuff). He was adopted by several families, but they did not last long since anyone who found out about him planned to kill him or talk about it, so they somehow met with a violent demise. The last time is when he was 13, and so far things have been quiet, aside from the occasional student or holy man that got too close to the truth.
He recently came to inherit his late foster father's corporation, Thorn Industries, which has some hands in various things such as chemicals, technology, fertilizer, energy, etc. Damien was also attending Yale, seeking to get the right degrees that will prepare him for the political arena.
His personality is that a calm and calculating young man, quite reserved, although he does have a bit of a dark and naughty side to him. Appearances, especially his own, are important to him. He will go to almost any lengths in order to come off as a humanitarian while hatching evil plans behind closed doors. He has no guilt over the many "accidental" deaths caused for and by him, save for one; his late cousin Mark Thorn, whom he thought of as as a brother (or who knows, perhaps more).
He also has certain phobias. He does not particularly like being inside religious buildings, especially Christian churces. The reasons are two-fold: one, his foster father had attempted to kill him on an altar one night when he was five, which resulted in police gunning the man down. Secondly, it's probably an ingrained trait to despise anything holy due to what he is. However, that is more psychological than superstition.
Damien is the type who likes to indulge, and sometimes in excess, when it comes to things referred to as "sin" by religious people. He gets a sort of rush out of being in its presence. Alcohol, gluttony, gambling, sex, desecration, profanity, etc. He not only likes to partake of it, but also to watch others during it... sometimes even sort of abusing his gift in order to tempt others into doing it. He's a firm believer in free will, self-preservation, and living to the fullest (even if it's at the expense of something or someone else)
