Ellen Fanshaw is from the 2003 Canadian TV series Slings & Arrows. Her journal is at dame_ellen, her PB is Martha Burns, and she is played by Rach.
Ellen Fanshaw is a gifted and talented actress who is the leading lady of all flagship productions at the New Burbage Theatre Festival. Just ask her; she'll be happy to confirm your high opinion of her. Her Ophelia is legendary, even though she only had 3 performances, thanks to her then-lover Geoffrey Tennant's infamous onstage mental breakdown.
Unfortunately, her illustrious career seemed headed for an early twilight, thanks to the fading artistic vision of artistic director Oliver Welles. When Welles met an untimely death (thanks to his post-party booze-fueled collapse nap in the street, interrupted by a pig truck), the festival was thrown into chaos ... a chaos that was initially exacerbated by the appointment of an Interim Artistic Director: Geoffrey Tennant.
Oh, well. That's show biz.
APPEARANCE AND PERSONALITY:
Ellen is a rather petite, demure-appearing redhead. Don't be fooled by her looks. In her rare moments of honesty, she will admit to being petty, shallow, self-centered, bitter, and bitchy. She has a need for acclaim that is slightly greater than the average actor's, much as the Great Lakes are slightly larger than a puddle. That having been said, she is indeed a very talented actress who has become famous for her roles over the years at the New Burbage Theatre Festival.
She has an unfortunate approach to coping with life's difficulties: passive-aggressive or just plain aggressive barbs tossed with vicious accuracy, drinking, or sleeping with younger men she will never respect. Luckily for any directors working with her, she can be coerced into better behaviour by an appeal to her duty to the good of the play.
