Hope is an incredibly minor character in James Patterson's Maximum Ride series.

Background

Like the Flock, she was genetically engineered with bird DNA to have wings. She was kept in a cage. She wasn't given a name, so she made one up for herself: Hope. She isn't sure how old she is, but it's probably around 16. She was kept at The Institute in New York, where scientists experimented on her to test her capabilities. What they were planning to do with her, she didn't know. She was released by other people that looked like her--Kids with wings. They offered to let her stay with them, but she declined, going off on her own.

She comes to UTR from about six months after being released. Being alone and on the run made it a little easier for her to blend in, but without the support of a flock, she isn't as mentally stable as the main characters in the story.

Other Notes

In the series, Hope was not given a name. The character expansion came from me, and any flaws or trite plotlines should not be blamed on Mr. Patterson.

The plan is for Hope to be a temporary character, here to facilitate another characters plot. However, everyone can feel free to interact with her, and she might stick around if she stumbles upon intriguing CR.
