Hope Smith-Harkness is one of the triplets that were born to Sarah Jane Smith and Captain Jack Harkness. Her identical sister’s name is Holly and her brother’s name is Josh. They have grown up knowing about the hub, the Rift, the Doctor and other such anomalies. With their parents, how could they not?

This version of Hope is almost 20 years old, but for her, she remembers coming through the vortex with her brother and sister when she was 12 years old. To her it’s been almost eight years when in actuality it’s only been about eight months since she left.

Hope is a college graduate and is doing some investigative reporting very similar to the things her mother was doing when she met back up with the Doctor in “School Reunion”. Hope also has the ability to heal slightly faster thanks to her father’s genetics. Something she knows she shares with Tyler and Kyoko. She never met Fred when she was here before.

She comes to this world after investigating something with the Rift when the vortex picked her up. She has replaced a famous fashion photographer upon her arrival.
