Irisi Djeserit

Page history last edited by littlemoresonic 10 mos ago

Full Name:

Irisi Djeserit.

Nickname:

Isis.

Age:

26.

DOB:

July 17, 1980. (It was 2007 in her time.)

Sexuality:

Bisexual.

Occupation:

Occultist. Professional demon hunter.

Clothing:

Favors black. Tends to wear a black leather jacket or trenchcoat, black jeans or slacks, a black, green or blue tank top, t-shirt, button up shirt or sweater, and black boots. She occasionally wears black fingerless gloves, and she always wears a silver tyet (an ankh with the arms pointing down) necklace.

Appearance:

Irisi is fair skinned and petite, only 5'4" and rather thin, but there is an intimidating air to her despite her size. She has auburn hair that comes to the middle of her back, which she almost always leaves down. It isn't exactly curly but has a slight wave to it, and she usually doesn't give it much thought. Her eyes are green. She has a tattoo of a tyet on the inside of her right wrist, an udjat symbol tattooed on the back of her neck and several scars from various fights as a hunter. The only ones of note are scars from some claws on her back. She doesn't have any recent scars, since she's been working with a group that has healers, and she has her own healing ability.

Any special abilities:

Like most Ascending Ones, Irisi makes elixirs that have various effects. The elixirs are made using illegal drugs and poisons, but she has a natural resistance and her faith allows her to take them without ill effect. Her status as a Daughter of Nibiru allows her to use Gutter Magic, allowing her to tap into various Mysteries. She has mastered the Mysteries of Lore (which all witches can access), Fortelling, Health and Mind. There are three tiers of Gutter Magic, and she is learning the third. Eventually, she will master two more Mysteries (Elemental and Supernal), but she has a middling understanding of them for now.

Personality:

Irisi is a rather strong-willed woman, but that isn't a euphemism for bitch...most of the time. She has something of a temper...alright, she has rage issues. Her virtue is justice and her vice is wrath, so she tends to fly off the handle in the face of injustice...or idiotic or chauvinist men. She's incredibly stubborn, but passionate about what she believes in. She has an amazing level of faith, even if it isn't in what's traditional for Alaska, since she is Kemetic Orthodox and strongly devoted to Isis. She is slightly self-destructive and tends to throw herself into danger. Even though she is stubborn, she tends to accept things she considers fate or duty without much of a fight. That's not to say that if she sees a vision of someone in her group, or even herself, getting hurt or dying, she won't do all in her power to prevent it. Irisi has a hard time trusting people, but once she accepts them, she is very protective, and often almost motherly toward them. She enjoys going out and having fun when things aren't dangerous, but dislikes long periods of calm because they make her antsy. She is a very charming and charismatic person, and tends to be able to convince people of things. She is very focused on her goals and it is hard to distract her from them.

Any psychological problems and the reasons for them:

No more than your average hunter. She tends to throw herself into danger, but that's probably because she was raised in an environment where that was the norm and both her parents died violent deaths.

Likes:

Coffee, cigarettes, Thai food and Chinese, fighting, cats, blades, Indie music, classic rock, her car, yoga, killing demons, dancing, sex (who doesn't), reading, hiking, karate, tequila, meditating, tiramisu.

Dislikes:

Chauvinism, arrogance, descendants of Gilgamesh, people trying to convert her or get her to accept Christ into her life, traffic, mexican food, beer, meat, energy drinks, dogs, hot weather, long calm periods, rap, socializing, politics.

Talents or skills:

Elixirs, hand-to-hand combat, blades, magic, occult, research, sarcasm.

History:

Irisi was born on July 17, 1983, in Anchorage Alaska. Her parents were devoted followers of Kemetic Orthodoxy, and she was born on the celebration of the birth of Isis, so she was named Irisi, "fashioned by Isis". Her father, Adam Nasser, and her mother, Rashida Djeserit, were not married but long-term partners. They were a hunter team and members of a group called the Ascending Ones. Both were of Egyptian descent, Rashida a descendant of the Daughters of Nibiru. Irisi was also a descendant, so Rashida raised her to understand elixirs and hunting, as well as the subtleties of gutter magic in the event she was ever awakened. Aside from hunting, her mother ran an occult shop called the Ankh and Sickle, the only real occult shop in Anchorage, situated between a Christian bookstore and a pharmacy. Her father was a professor of Anthropology at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

When Irisi was sixteen, her father was killed by a demon, and she began training with one of the Ascending Ones, Aharon, who became like an older brother to her. When she was eighteen, she joined the Ascending Ones and began hunting, while helping her mother with the shop during the day. Her mother began teaching her more about what it meant to be a Daughter of Nibiru. The Daughters of Nibiru had brought about the downfall of Gilgamesh, and their descendants lived on, using magic. Meanwhile, Gilgamesh's descendants also lived on. The two groups were violent enemies. Irisi learned just how dangerous the legacy she had inherited was when she was twenty. Her mother was killed by a descendant of Gilgamesh. Irisi had not yet awakened, so she was not considered a threat. Still, she ended up killing the man by grabbing a sword in the shop and stabbing him to death. It was the first time she'd ever killed a human. She wasn't bothered, because she considered it to be serving justice. She took over the occult shop and sold her elixirs on the side.

When Irisi was twenty-two, she finally awoke to her abilities as a Daughter of Nibiru, specifically the Mysteries of Lore and Foretelling. Fortelling has become her strongest Mystery. She later gained Health and Mind, and Mind became her second strongest Mystery. She has gotten strong enough that she can have in depth visions of the future, read and influence minds, use telekinesis, and even remove memories. She grew stronger in Health and could purge poisons and heal deeper wounds. After finally mastering it, she was able to regrow limbs and even raise the dead, though that is very draining. Her middling control of the Elemental and Supernal Mysteries means that she can summon, shield herself from and attack with her chosen element (fire), and can activate a magical item or drain it of its power, counter another witch's spells and siphon her own strength as a means of increasing her magical power. Eventually she will be able to use her element as an active weapon and cause her element to rain down from the sky, undo long term and complicated spells of other witches, and flay the skin of her enemies to gain power from their agony and the blood spilled.

In the past few months, she became involved with another hunter group, headed by a woman named Jocelyn, who was a werewolf. The other members of the group were Mary Alice, a Lucifuge (the child of Satan), Asmundr and Vigdis, Norse twins and devotees of Ægir, Vic, a private investigator, Jake, the muscle of the group, Gabriella, a nun, Derek the tech support and a quasi-gangster, and Codex, Mary Alice's cat familiar. She became very close to Vigdis, a mute seer, and felt an almost motherly or sisterly affection for her, both because of shared abilities and a protectiveness to her. They soon realized that they were up against something really big. They were visited by visions of an Angel of Fire, the horseman of War, and found they were facing a biblical apocalypse.
