Freakangels is set in a time after London has been flooded. A group, called the Freakangels, live in Whitechapel and their life encounters a dramatic bump when a girl called Alice arrives one day, bearing a shotgun and a grievance against one of their number. Ellis' synopsis of the plot involves characters "living in a post-flood London that they might possibly have had something to do with."

The first FreakAngel introduced, having just awoken from a night of excessive drinking, she is horrified to find she has apparently "fucked a boy from the Lambeth Road." KK pilots a steam-powered helicopter and she indicates that the FreakAngels have access to a "big steam gun." She dresses primarily in goth clothing and, like the other FreakAngels, has violet eyes and pale skin. She is shown to be impulsive and temperamental, dropping a full water canteen on an attackers's head without regards to the possibility she might have killed her. 

The Freakangel clan is twelve people, born at the same moment, with pale skin and purple eyes. Each has a unique specialty, but all have strong telepathic links to each other and to others. Together they are stronger than they are alone, which might have brought them more trouble than they gambled for.  They watch over flooded London, specifically the Whitechapel district, and try to keep civilization afloat, as it were.

KK's talent is steam-engineering, a master mechanic and problem solver for the industrial bits of the little hamlet along with Caz. That is, when she isn't sneaking off to get drunk or get laid. Conner says 'She's brilliant, really, except for when you need her to act like a normal person. Half the time, she's in the garage. The other half, she's picking up two miles away so we don't find out she likes to have sex.'2

Her helicopter is referred to as a "bikicopter" by artist Paul Duffield, KK herself calls it "the bike."

Her full name is Kolfinnia Kokokoho Titching, which she doesn't like being called, so don't, unless you don't mind parting with your front teeth.
