Keller is the freshest fucked-up fruit to fall off of a family tree rooted in psychosis and addiction. His personal addiction is for gambling, and to a lesser extent, girls who can (and often do) kick his ass. Suffice to say: he hasn’t had the best luck with girlfriends. He insists that it isn`t an addiction, or even a compulsion, it`s simply a hobby.
Somehow Keller managed to get a rogue tall gene, putting him at 6`7”, towering over both his parents and all three of his sisters, as well as his half-brother`s other half-brother. Teague and Keller`s not-really-siblings bonding time mostly consisted of beating each other up, fights that Keller rarely won, even with his superior reach.
Keller gets the gambling gene from both sides, his mother is the low-key sort of gambler who buys lotto tickets every week (“Because SOMEbody has to win!”) and scratch-off tickets as often as she can afford (which is pretty often). When Keller was younger most of them were handed off to him, because it kept him quiet due to the fact that he was meticulous about getting ALL the scratchy stuff off.
His father prefers racetracks, dogs mostly, but horses are just as good, and it`s tradition to bet on the Calaveras County Jumping Frogs, even despite being on the opposite side of the country. Any time Keller lost a fight with Teague, he got a conciliatory trip to the dog track, when he won it was a congratulatory one, and there was a weekly Sunday afternoon trip as well. Just because.
Keller’s `hobby` wouldn’t be so bad if he didn’t seem to like losing so much, this goes for gambling as well as girls who can kick his ass.
His personal psychosis (undiagnosed, of course, because he “Ain’t a head-case”) manifests as mild OCD, making sure all the scratchy stuff is off of scratch cards, all the adhesive is off of CD cases, eating one thing at a time during family meals, that sort of thing, nothing that really interferes with daily life.
Keller really is trailer trash, though he denies it, since the trailer he grew up (and still lives) in is a two-story modular home in a modular home community and decidedly NOT a trailer park, but even with that being the case, he still manages to be trailer trash, complete with motorcycle. He got it for his 16th birthday, and has used it as his sole mode of transportation since getting his license, every Saturday morning the bike gets taken apart, cleaned and put back together by Saturday evening. Just to make sure that it stays in top condition of course, not at all another manifestation of his OCD.
In de OOC: Keller mostly belongs to his own self and Ven, even though he's decided that he lives in Sterling's head, Nick Simmons provides the face.
