K.I.T.T. aka the Knight Industries Three Thousand is from the 2008 NBC series revival of Knight Rider.

K.I.T.T. is a self-aware artificial intelligence housed within a 5.4 L (330 CID) Modular 540-HP supercharged V8 2008 model Shelby Cobra. He has the ability to transform his appearance, from an 'Attack' mode to a complete body change to resemble other cars, including a Ford Crown Victoria police cruiser, a Ford E-150 van, an F-150 pickup, and the classic Shelby Mustang of 1965. He boasts an arsenal of weaponry at his disposal, such as a grill-mounted gun, side-mounted missile launchers and can emit sleep-inducing gas inside his own cabin in the event of an attempted hijacking. K.I.T.T. has a top speed of 377mph, and also is capable of operating underwater. His designer, Dr. Charles Graiman, heads up the team that manages and maintains K.I.T.T. at Knight Industries, a government security contractor that takes on top-secret missions related to national security issues. For these missions, K.I.T.T. is partnered with a human driver, Mike Traceur.

K.I.T.T. does not appear to be entirely beholden to Asimov's traditional Three Laws of Robotics, though the series' depiction of this is inconsistent. For this version's purposes, K.I.T.T. is indeed capable and has been equipped with lethal as well as non-lethal weaponry. He will not employ lethal force unless the life of someone under his protection is directly threatened, though only if that lethal force will indeed save their life, and there is absolutely no non-lethal recourse available to him; or his driver (owner) orders him to do so. This latter part is likely to be disputed by the A.I. himself. He is programmed to obey those he serves but is in fact capable of going against those orders if he reasons otherwise.  

K.I.T.T. is currently based in London, with the British branch of Knight Industries and is in the care of his predecessor, Kitt, and his wife, Hattie Jackson. In order to avoid identity confusion with that of his predecessor and new owner, the Knight Industries Two Thousand, K.I.T.T. has adopted the nickname of 'Kobie', a word play based on the trademark Shelby cobra that adorns his grille.

He recently assisted and befriended the healer Codex, and has since been introduced to the game World of Warcraft as a result. He has since decided on the Paladin class, as one that best seems to match his skillset in the real world.

For continuity purposes, K.I.T.T. enters this universe shortly after the events of Season 1 episode 8 (pre-KARR).
