History

Levi was born to a drug addicted mother in the mid 1980's. A crack baby, he struggled early on, and was fostered by a wealthy family who gave up on him after a few years, sending him back rather than adopting him as was the plan all along. He'd attempted, at four years old, to set the house on fire. Slate was bounced around six homes over the next year before finally being placed with a middle aged couple who weren't about to put up with his crap. The first month he was with them he was kept in his room most of the time. They were harsh and strict, but they made clear just what was expected of the boy. They shaped him and molded him, breaking his will and building it back up again so that he was able to integrate into society. He required a lot of personal attention, but he began to flourish, and by his early teen years he was a respectable young man.

...Just in time for his birth mother to come looking for him. So started a descent into bad behaviour and acting out. Levi was caught in a push and pull custody battle, which was eventually won by his adoptive parents, but not without a great cost to Levi's progress. He struggled throughout out his teens, committing petty crimes and sneaking out and what not. At seventeen, he was arrested for date rape, and put through a juvinile detention and rehabilitation program.

Upon his release, Levi hooked up with his birth mother and all the promises she made. Leaving his adoptive parents behind, he moved in with his birth mother. She groomed him for several years, breaking his will much as his adoptive parents had done in his childhood, before introducing him to his intended mate, a beautiful woman named Glory. He was never told she was a weretiger, and he never knew that his mother was the leader of a family of weretigers, and that she was effectively grooming Levi to take over.

The ritual of his turning happened at the full moon in September 2009. Terrified and confused, Levi lashed out, accidentally killing both his mother and Glory with his new found (and uncontrolled) strength. Hopefully in UTR he will learn to control the beast, with the help of the vampires Malakai and Rurik.
