Lady Mary Tudor is the daughter of Henry VIII, by his first wife Queen Katherine of Aragon. At one time she was named Princess of Wales, and was even betrothed to the French Dauphin, though it never came to fruition. She was raised a devout Catholic; it is something that she would hold onto for the rest of her life. When the king married Anne Boleyn, her mother was put aside, divorced; Mary was declared a bastard, and stripped of all her titles and positions, forced instead of drop from Princess to simply Lady Mary. She was placed in the infant Elizabeth's household and forced to serve the child who took her place. She was a staunch rival and enemy of Anne Boleyn, refusing to the end to ever acknowledge anyone but her own mother as Queen, even after Katherine died.

She is being brought into the game just after the end of Season 3 on The Tudors after Henry annulled his marriage to Anne of Cleves and got involved with Katherine Howard. So obviously this is after the birth of her brother, Edward, and the death of Jane Seymour.
