My Veidt is taken from after the last scenes of Watchmen.  Adrian has not left Karnak since his masterstroke came to fruition.  Doctor Manhattan, in his final encounter with Adrian, introduced seeds of doubt which have troubled Adrian ever since.  Now that he's gotten here, and he sees that it was really the tiniest of things that set his world on its nearly-inevitable course towards doomsday, he questions himself even more.  While he doesn't necessarily feel that his plan was wrong given the situation at the time, he realizes that as "the smartest man on Earth" he should have seen what was going on with Nixon.  He also feels he should have killed Blake sooner, since it was Blake who stopped what this Earth terms "Watergate".  In his mind, this means that while his plan was necessary based on the society that developed as a result of the government's corrupt actions, the creation of that society was not inevitable.  This logic was enough to open a floodgate of guilt, though he will not let anyone know this easily.

Veidt Enterprises

Veidt Enterprises is the company that Adrian ran on his Earth.  It has followed him, in a manner of speaking.  Back home, Veidt Enterprises did everything from genetics research to fuel solutions to toys to cosmetics to...well, you get the picture.  Here, Veidt Enterprises is a little less massive, though Adrian will likely seek to change this.  What it does here is this:

• Genetics research (everything from genetic modifications to cloning)
• Cosmetics
• Research into alternative fuels
• Pharmacutical research
• Quantum physics

While Adrian is happy with things as they are, he wouldn't mind expanding in other directions.
