Rahne Sinclair

Rahne Sinclair or Wolfsbane is a character from Marvel Universe, primarily X-Factor.

Before the Game

Rahne was orphaned. She grew up under the care of the Reverend Craig. He wasn't exactly the nicest religious man. When Rahne's mutant powers manifested at age 14, he led a mob to try and kill her. Moira McTaggart found her and saved her life, and wound up taking her in and treating her like a daughter.

Rahne was brought into the New X-Men at a young age. Xavier hadn't intended for them to fight, but it became inevitable. Rahne's powers let her transform into a werewolf-like form, or into a full-wolf. She can't talk in full-wolf form, but telepaths can communicate with her.

On Genosha, she was transformed into a brainless slave and bonded to Alex Summers, who was tricked/brainwashed into being a magistrate. She managed to get out of the brainless passive slave thing by transforming into her werewolf-form, but she could not transform back to her human state. Also, that bond to Alex remained, although she did not know it at the time. She thought she was in love with Alex.

When Alex decided to lead the government-based team X-Factor, Rahne followed him. She was the youngest member of the team, at age 16. She was still stuck in her transitional werewolf-form, because if she transformed back into a human she would be a mutate-slave again. She had a few fights with Polaris, Alex's girlfriend, due to her jealousy caused by the mental-bond. She flirted with Alex, and even approached him in his room one night when he was in bed.

Later she discovered that all of this was because of the bond that was forced on her by the Genoshan experiments. She begged Professor X to fix her, but he wasn't able to. She was later healed by a mutant named Haven. She could return to her human form, and she wasn't in love with Alex.

Then she joined Excalibur and she lost her powers for a while and some other stuff happened, but I haven't read those comics so they're not important.

Fastfoward to later, Jamie Madrox reopens X-Factor in NYC as a private detective agency. Rahne signs on. This is where she was when the vortex opened and dumped her here.

Personality

Rahne continues to be very religious. She goes to church every Sunday. She can be very shy and withdrawn. She isn't as playful and witty as her old teammates Jamie and Guido were. She has a short temper at times, and is known to have violent anger outbursts. Usually Guido is the one to hold her back when that happens. She and Guido were really close when they worked together. Brother-sister close, not anything romantic.

Speaking of romantic, Rahne's a teenager and does tend to get crushes on guys a lot. But her shyness generally keeps her from acting on those (as long as she isn't being mind controlled). Her oldest crush is her one on Sam "Cannonball" Guthrie, who naturally had no idea she liked him. She also had crushes on Julio Esteban "Rictor" Richter and Doug "Cypher" Ramsey.

Current Updates

  • When she first arrived through the vortex, she was dumped into a burning building. In part due to her strict religious upbringing, she first thought she was in Hell and didn't try to escape. Firefighters pulled her out, and Jamie Madrox found her and brought her back to X-Factor HQ.
  • Upon seeing Raven Darkholme/Mystique in X-Factor the first time, Rahne attacked her. Jamie managed to calm her down.
  • She had a crush on one of her coworkers, Jimmy. Terry sort of stole him from her, and she wound up with Anakin Solo. They're a cute little couple.
  • One time she went feral... almost like she was going into heat. She attacked people, and sort of pounced Anakin.. Very weird time, that she later felt awkward about. Ah, the crazy shennanigans that go on at X-Factor.
