STANLEY RAYMOND KOWALSKI is from the 1994 Canadian TV series Due South, played here by Vespurrs. His journal can be found at ray_not_ray. 

Stan Kowalski, better known as Ray to his friends, is a detective at the 27th Precinct in Chicago, IL. His place in the series' timeline for those familiar with the show is after the events of Hunting Season but before the events of Call of the Wild. His PB is Callum Keith Rennie.

Kowalski's father was a fan of  Marlon Brando, who played Stanley Kowalski in the 1951 film version of A Streetcar Named Desire — hence his name. To add to the Streetcar connections, Kowalski's ex-wife - the Assistant States Attorney - is his childhood sweetheart Stella Kowalksi. Their divorce was bitter: they ostensibly broke up because he wanted to start a family, which she wasn't prepared to do. Kowalski's family includes his parents Damian and Barbara, and a brother who never appeared on the show and hasn't been mentioned except on the show's official website.

Ray was brought into the series at the start of Season 3. Ray Vecchio had suddenly been sent deep undercover with the mob in Las Vegas, and to protect Ray's identity, and suffering deeply from his divorce from Stella, Kowalski was brought in to impersonate him until the real Vecchio returned. This also meant taking on Ray's friend and unofficial partner, Constable Benton Fraser, who was on vacation at the time of the "switch" and returned to find Kowalski at Ray's desk claiming to be Ray Vecchio. After some significant confusion on Fraser's end, he was let into the secret. Fraser and Kowalski have since become true friends and partners.

Ray's eyesight is not the best in the world, and he needs to wear his glasses in order to aim a gun with any degree of effectiveness. He prefers not to wear them because he doesn't like how he looks with them, but he's a superlative shot when he does. He likes to put M&M's into his coffee and likes to dance - something he used to do with Stella. Since the divorce he has taken a fancy to a few women, most notably Maggie Mackenzie, Fraser's half-sister. Stan maintains his own apartment, despite the ruse of his identity. His only pet is a turtle. Compared to Vecchio's penchant for Armani, Kowalski is very much more of a blue jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. He drives a black Pontiac GTO that he and his father restored together.

Ray is in his mid-30's, approximately 5'10" tall, with blond "experimental" (his words) hair and blue eyes.
