Sohma Shigure is a character from the manga Fruits Basket.

Background

Shigure is an author, particularly of cheesy (naughty?) romance novels, but he also writes more serious fiction at times. He is part of the Mabudachi Trio, with Aya and Hatori.

He flirts with pretty much anything that moves, and has an affinity for high school girls. Of course, he was afflicted by the Sohma Family Curse, and turned into a dog whenever hugged by a female.

Current Updates

He was quite surprised to discover the curse was gone (by waking up in bed next to a woman). He is still an author, and is responsible for stories written by The Anonymous Author. An archive of such stories can be found here.

He was living with his cousin Aya. They have a very...unique relationship, and it's entirely possible they were sleeping together. They often tease about it, but no one is ever 100% sure. After Aya disappeared, Shigure became somewhat depressed, but covers it up with his carefree, perverted demeanor.

He is a huge fan of Emma Frost, and walks the fine line of hitting on her and being polite enough that she doesn't zap his brain.

He's recently formed a friendship with Domino. He enjoys having a woman he can flirt with, but not be expected to 'follow through'.

When Edward Cullen arrived, he also replaced Stephen King. Now everything that was formerly written by Stephen King lists 'Sohma Shigure and Edward Cullen' as co-authors. It doesn't bother Shigure, but he finds it amusing.

A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE ANONYMOUS AUTHOR STORIES!

If you're relatively new to the game, here's what you need to know: Shigure is a writer. He's actually quite good, but he enjoys writing bad-bad fanfic/smut of other characters in the game. It's all in good fun! I really want to stress this. While it is inevitable that some characters will get bent out of shape over it, I don't want the muns to be upset!

Shigure writes random pairings. I don't typically warn players if I am using their characters. It's more crack and fun that way. Surprises are fun!

Shigure does a lot of research. He knows a lot about the other characters in the game because he reads up on the 'fandoms' they are from. I try very hard not to bring OOC knowledge into his stories, but if it's published in their books/whatever, I generally consider it fair game. If I do accidentally use something you would prefer to be OOC knowledge exclusively: Just tell me (preferably nicely) and I will rewrite it. We will all pretend it never happened.

Oh, one last thing! He publishes all of these under the pseudonym 'The Anonymous Author' to avoid being lynched. Please don't lynch him. ♥
