Tachikoma is a character from the anime Ghost in the Shell.

Background

There were many tachikomas. They were combat tanks with artificial intelligence programmed into them to make them more effective in combat. They were programmed with a child-like personality in hopes that it would prevent them from gaining too much individuality and rising up against their creators.

They did start to get a little individuality, mostly because Batou liked to give his personal Tachikoma natural oil. When Major Motoko Kusanagi decided that it had gone too far, she shut down the tachikoma program, sending them back to the lab.

In the Game

Tachikoma's personality traits of curiousity, enthusiasm and friendliness continue. She was very excited to become human, and to know that she know has a 'ghost' (read: soul).

She began dating Merv Pumpkinhead. She absolutely adores him. She lives in his mansion, and he frequently comes to visit her, but he lives in the dreaming. She also visits the dreaming a lot, and knows all of Merv's coworkers.

She knows Dream because he's Merv's boss, and she looks up to him and likes talking to him when she can. She shares a fondness for the rest of the Endless, too, but she doesn't know them as well.

She met Seth and befriended him, not knowing or really caring that he was a serial killer. She was very sweet to him, and didn't really understand that he had a crush on her. He kidnapped her and held her for several days, keeping her awake with caffeine because he knew that her dream-friends would be able to find her if she fell asleep. After that experience, she was a little more cautious about meeting new people, usually asking Merv to come with her the first few times.

She lives with Kitten Braden, and really enjoys her companionship. She doesn't really understand exactly what it means to be a transvestite, but she sees Kitten like Merv's sister. Once Merv's 'mother' (or the woman who was the mother of the person Merv replaced) came over and thought that Kitten was Merv in women's clothing. She was very angry and threw a tantrum. She doesn't bother them anymore now, though.

She really likes transformers and KITT from Knightrider. She doesn't watch that much TV, but it's usually about robots or action things when she does.
